Top properties: View’s October recap

With summer on the horizon, luxurious homes with prime space for entertaining have clearly been on buyers’ radars. Pools and outdoor dining areas feature prominently in this snapshot of the most breathtaking properties which changed hands in October, in elite locations including Sandy Bay, Armadale and Alderley.


Malvern East – $5.1 million

Full of character and history, this amazing 1930s home on Wattletree Road broke the $5 million mark when it sold last month. With five bedrooms, two bathrooms and a generous block with loads of potential, it certainly stands out as a grand family home.


Armadale – $6.05 million

In a tightly-held estate, complete with a private north-facing garden, this Munro Street property changed hands for $6.05 million in October after going on the market for the first time in 40 years. The location is phenomenal and the new owners will have their pick of nearby restaurants, transport and schools.

Hawthorn East – $4.6 million

This spacious 6 bed, 6 bath home has all the high-end finishes you could possibly desire—including butler’s pantry, 3.4 metre ceilings and American oak parquetry floors. Close to Auburn Village and Rathmines Reserve, it’s the ideal spot for a growing family who enjoys the finer things in life, and was sold for $4.6 million.

Northbridge – $4.6 million

South Australia

Ashford – $780,000

This Ashford home boasts five spacious bedrooms over two levels, including a master suite that would make the perfect parent’s retreat. The deluxe kitchen, spa bath and fabulous location helped the vendors fetch $780,000 when they sold it last month.

Lower Mitcham – $851,000

Recently updated by the previous owners, this Lower Mitcham home came onto the market after 28 years in the family, and sold for $851,000. With three bedrooms, polished timber floors and ample car parking, the new owners will be able to move in and enjoy, as the hard work has already been completed.


Northern Territory

Durack – $575,000

This 5 bedroom home in the premier suburb of Durack offers versatility and stunning views, and changed hands for $575,000. Not only does it boast a downstairs area perfect for use as a granny flat, home office or teenagers’ retreat, and spacious open-plan living upstairs – it’s also in a sought-after school catchment zone with gorgeous views of the nearby lakes and golf course.

Girraween – $740,000
