The first month of 2018 has come to an end, as has the sales process for plenty of properties that were on the market. Here are some of the top homes across the country that changed hands throughout January.

Barwon Heads – $3.3m

1775 Barwon Heads offered plenty for its new owners with four bedrooms, four bathrooms and a whopping 14 car spaces – unsurprising though when you discover it is set on 5 acres. The breathtaking design and stunning natural landscapes are more than enough to justify the $3.3 million-dollar price tag.

Hawthorn – $2.8m

Located in a prized pocked at the river-end of Hawthorn, this four-bedroom family home is the perfect blend of elegant Edwardian and understated contemporary. Just down the road from an array of elite schools including Xavier College and MLC Melbourne, this amazing home went under the hammer for $2.8m.

Monbulk – $2.8m

Touted as a “French Provincial mansion” and set on an incredible 29 acres, 140 Rankins Road looks like something out of a fairy tale. With sweeping views of the surrounding countryside and just under an hour from Melbourne’s CBD, this home truly offers the best of both worlds. It sold for $2.8m.

New South Wales

North Bondi – $4.1m

Located in beautiful Bondi, 67 Warners Avenue is just 500m away from the surf. Offering a blend of coastal-style comfort and modern design, this four-bedroom home set back its new owners just over $4.1m.

Palm Beach – $4.1m

3 Bynya Road takes beachside living to the next level – three levels in fact. Sitting on an impressive block of land just a tad over 1000sqm, the heightened views of the surrounding beaches are well worth the $4.1m selling price.

North Wollongong – $3.5m

Development opportunities are still hot in the market, with these two side-by-side homes in North Wollongong a prime example. With a combined block of land totalling over 1500sqm, the properties were purchased for just over $3.5m.

South Australia

Parkside – $1.4m

This sought-after address in Parkside sold in just 10 days for $1.4m. The charming façade and modern interior offers the best of indoor/outdoor living, and the new owners will no doubt appreciate the pure opulence displayed by each room’s design.

North Hobart – $1.1m

419 Elizabeth Street is an 1880s residence with plenty of character. Offering period charm, including a stunning utilisation of sandstone, it is located on the upside of the North Hobart hub, just minutes from the CBD. Elizabeth Street went under the hammer for just under $1.2m.

Weetangera – $850k

It was a relatively quiet period for the nation’s capital, but this four-bedroom home managed to catch the eye of its lucky new homeowners. Situated between the local Weetangera and Hawker shops, it is also across the road the Weetangera Playing Fields. The home sold for a neat $850k.

 Western Australia

Madeley – $540k

A quaint façade and clever floor plan was the perfect selling point for 36 Olivedale Road. Geared as a first home, downsizing or investing opportunity, the four-bedroom, two-bathroom home sold for $540k.

 Northern Territory

Humpty Doo – $595k
